Once Human: How to Prepare for the Season Reset? — Do this to save your progress!

Once Human Team Editor

The new Once Human Seasonal Reset is right around the corner (September 2024), and players are still hesitant to sign up for the new servers. Basically, Once Human is based on a whole new 'Scenario' formula, which presents the players with new content, activities, and quests after every 6 weeks. Sounds wonderful, doesn't it? Well, there is a catch, you will lose all your progress, exploration, Energy Links, and much more on each Reset.

In other words, the game will force all players to start their character and base from scratch after every 6 weeks. Adding to the troubles, you will lose everything that you don't back up or leave unattended at the time of the Reset. As a result, players are getting the impression that all of their hard work will go to waste. Worry not, as we have been working hard to gather any information on this new Scenario, and we have found just the perfect remedy to your problems.

In this article, we will discuss how to prepare for the Once Human season reset, how to carry over your goods to the new servers, and everything else mentioned in the possible update notes, let's start:

Blogs Once Human: Server Reset Explained

Once Human has introduced a new Scenario-based formula in which, the game servers will practically reset after a fixed duration and respawn the players into a whole new world. This concept may seem vague to some as the game will also bring back all players to character level 1, reset the exploration progress, and take away all of them Energy Links and many other useful resources. However, this system promises to keep the game fresh and unbiased for free-to-play players.

Furthermore, each new Scenario will bring new events, activities, quests, and weapons, so everyone gets a fresh start after 6 weeks. Lastly, players get to keep their blueprints, weapons, secured Deviants, quest progress, and rare currencies. Moreover, you can also save your entire base camp as a blueprint and reconstruct everything in the new server. In short, the Once Human Server Reset is an interesting way to introduce new concepts and features while giving everyone a chance to start their journey from scratch.

Blogs What Do You Keep After the Reset?

What Carries Over

Well, you won't actually have to start from scratch after the big Reset. Here is a list of items that are guaranteed to get carried over to the new servers:

  • Currencies: Starchroms, Stellar Planula, Crystgins, Mitsuko's Marks, Siderite, Lightforge Relics, and Sproutlets.
  • Blueprints: Furniture (except Memetics), House Blueprints, Weapon Blueprints, Gear Blueprints, Cooking Recipes, and Blueprint Fragments.
  • Progress: Main Story, Tasks, Side Quests, Events Progress.
  • Items: Weapons, Attachments, Mods, Common Resources, Medicines, and Ammo (partially), and Deviants.
  • Character: Cosmetics, Outfits, Colorful Badges, Expressions and Poses, Name Cards, and Friends List.
  • Battle Pass: Silver Keys, Battle Pass EXP, and Battle Pass Tokens
  • Energy Links: All unspent Energy Links will slowly get converted into Astral Sands.

Blogs How to Prepare for the Once Human Server Reset?

We have been collecting pieces of information from the Developers ever since we heard about this Scenario-based formula. Now that everything has been decided, we have put together all the pieces to see a bigger picture of the whole deal. Our team knows what are you going to lose in the Reset, what gets carried over to the new servers, and how to make full use of your vulnerable resources. Here is a list of things you must do before the Once Human Server Reset so that you can get a head start over other players:

Blogs Spend All your Cortexes

Spend Cortex

If you have read our Stardust Resonant Filter Guide, you probably know a lot about the importance of purifying your territory. Basically, you must place your Cortexes inside the Resonant Filter and survive through multiple waves of enemies to purify your territory and earn a large Starchroms reward. You can perform this purification up to 40 times each week, so you have a lot of work to do before the next seasonal Reset.

In this regard, we know from the Server Reset notes that all your Starchroms will remain untouched and get transferred to the new servers. On the other hand, the game won't carry over your Cortex Stones, making them useless after the update. Therefore, it would be best to start performing multiple purifications daily so that you can convert your Cortexes into valuable Starchroms after the update. As for how to use them, you should check out our Once Human Wish Machine guide.

Blogs Save your House Blueprints

House Blueprint

This next suggestion should not be taken lightly unless you plan to spend another 10 hours in building your base in the new servers. However, players who are looking to create a new house in the server from scratch can skip this point. According to our notes, players get to keep their blueprints to the new servers after the Reset, except for the ones unlocked through Memetics. So, we can exploit this concept to save our house and get a head start on things while everyone else is busy working on their primitive huts.

To save your house blueprints in Once Human, simply open the build menu by pressing Z on your keyboard and navigate to the House Blueprints tab. Next, click on Add Blueprint and select 'Save All' to create a blueprint containing all your current house settings. Don't click on Save Single Building or else you will be stuck with just your empty house. Finally, use your House Blueprints in the new server to place the beacon and start collecting all the required resources to transfer your base to the new Scenario.

Oh, and don't worry about the rare resources, as the game will automatically replace them with lesser, more common alternatives like wooden logs and stones so that you can upgrade them later on in the game.

Blogs Use the Wish Machine

Wish Machine

Again, we will exploit the fact that all your acquired blueprints will get carried over to the new servers after the Reset. So, if you have been saving up to buy blueprints like the R500 Memento, now is the best time to spend your hard-earned Starchroms. You might be thinking, why spend it when the currency is guaranteed to get carried over, right?

Well, we don't know for sure if the Wish Machine or the store will contain the same blueprints after the Server Reset. It is very well possible that we will get new blueprints, and the current rare ones get forgotten forever. Therefore, it would be best to use the Wish Machine and get as many weapons and gear blueprints as you can get so that you don't have any regrets later on. Otherwise, you can save up for the next season and see what new things we are going to get in the new servers.

Blogs Complete Seasonal Goals

Seasonal Goals

Seasonal Goals in Once Human are a fun way to explore the world and earn exquisite rewards in the process. These rewards range from Legendary weapons to rare drops and thousands of Energy Links. However, all these activities and your current progress won't get carried over to the next season, locking you out of these important rewards.

Therefore, if you haven't touched the Journeys, Season Goals, Prime Wars, and limited-time Events yet, now is the best time to start grinding them. Oh, and doing so will also help you collect as many as 400k Energy Links, why? Well, you are about to find out in our next advice.

Blogs Stockpile Guaranteed Currencies

Stockpile Currencies

According to the update notes, rare and Legendary currencies like Starchroms, Stellar Planula, Crystgins, Mitsuko's Marks, and Sproutlets will get carried over to the new servers without any additional costs. So, you should start collecting all these rare currencies if you really wish to thrive in the next Scenario. Secondly, you should convert all your vulnerable currencies and resources into one of these guaranteed currencies to avoid any unplanned losses.

Blueprints

For example, you can covert your Energy Links into Starchroms from the Season Shop. Simply open the Seasonal Goals menu and enter the Season Shop (located in the top-right corner). Here, you can purchase almost anything, weapons, blueprints, furniture, and even Starchrom Crates. We strongly suggest that you focus on the Starchrom Crates, as they will guarantee that your hard-earned money gets carried over to the new servers.

You will need around 390,000 Energy Links to purchase all available Starchrom Crates in the store, so start selling your excess loot to collect it. Otherwise, all your Energy Links will get converted into Astral Sands, and we don't really know if you will be using them at all.

Blogs Unlock All Crates

Unlock Crates

Again, all the crates in your inventory won't get carried over to the new servers. These crates include Starchrom Crates and chests that you have already collected or purchased from the shops. Therefore, it is extremely important to unlock all available chests and use them now, as you won't get another chance after the Reset. Secondly, don't forget to open all Mystical Crates and Morphic Crates if you know how to find them, as you are about to lose all their potential drops.

Blogs Liquidate Your Assets

Liquidate Assets

Okay, this may sound absurd and sorry for the ultra-professional language, but you should definitely liquidate all your assets before the Server Reset. In other words, use your remaining Energy Links and other vulnerable currencies to purchase blueprints, cooking recipes (get them all), Fishing Bait Recipes, and, of course, mods and attachments. Secondly, if you have any extra resources or items that you don't really need (which we all have), now is the best time to sell them to the vendors.

Alternatively, you can also disassemble all dropped weapons and items inside your base to get valuable resources like Acid and Automatic Parts; you can use them at the Eternaland Depot to transfer them to your Spacetime Backpack. Lastly, the game also promises to partially carry over your resources and no weapons, so it's better to depend on a 50% chance than none at all.

Blogs Save your Deviants

Deviants

We weren't really expecting this and there was no mention in the Server Reset notes until we received an email from the system. Apparently, all the Deviants (Combat, Territory, and Gadget) placed in their Isolated Securement Units anywhere will change their ownership after the Reset. Our interpretation of this mail was that we should retrieve any Deviants secured in another friend's territory, or else they would change their allegiances after the Reset.

Withdraw Deviants

However, as a counter measure, we decided to take out all the stored Deviants from the Securement Units and placed them in the inventory just to stay on the safe side. We recommend that you should do the same and store at least one of each Deviant in your inventory before the Reset, better sure than sorry, right?

Blogs Use your Battle Pass Tokens

Battle Pass Tokens

We aren't really sure about this one but you should spend all your Battle Pass Tokens, as they will change a few days after the Server Reset. You can use them to purchase exclusive items that may or may not be available after the Reset. So, if you have your eyes on any new outfit or, maybe an emoticon, or even a skin, we suggest that you start spending your Battle Pass Tokens now.

Secondly, if you have any claimable items in the Events or Seasonal Goals or even Achievements, we suggest that you claim them now. Even though the notes state that Events progress will get carried over, but we are trying to be as safe as possible here. So, press the Esc button and browse through all tabs and menus to claim any remaining items before the Server Reset.

Blogs When is the Next Once Human Server Reset?

According to the Developers, the current Scenarios will last for about 6 weeks before getting a Server Reset. If our calculations are correct, we should be expecting the new Season 2 Scenario between September 1st to 6th. Recently, the Devs have announced Once Human Server Downtime due to maintenance on August 29th, maybe they have already started the rolling out process.

On the other contrary, they have also clarified that the 6-week duration isn't fixed for all seasons and we may get shorter or longer Scenarios in future updates. Furthermore, they have also promised to release some permanent Scenarios that players can enjoy without the fear of losing their progress. In any case, if you have been looking forward to the Once Human Server Reset, now is the best time to complete any last-minute trimmings.

Blogs Conclusion

To sum it up, Once Human is finally getting a major content update and the players are having second thoughts about their precious belongings. Hopefully, you have learned everything about the dos and don'ts before the Once Human Server Reset so that you can stay on top of things.
