Everything We Know So Far About Open Beta: Release Date

The upcoming Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta Test is set to be released around the last week of October 2024. Initially, the game will only be available to PlayStation 5 players with PS Plus Subscription on 28th October, and it will last till 30th October. On the contrary, Xbox, Non-PS Plus, and PC players must wait until 31st October before they can enjoy the Open Beta gameplay. Thus, players with a PS Plus subscription will get to enjoy the game for an extra 48 hours.

The game starts with the usual character creation screen, where you must choose how the hero looks. Moreover, you can access this menu at any time to edit the character and take it to perfection. After completing the CHatacabra Hunt, you will continue your journey through the vast openworld on your Seikret Mount. The mission during this phase is to track down the Doshaguma Hunt and kill the Alpha Doshaguma. During this phase, you can freely switch between your two available weapons.

Note: We are still not sure whether you get to choose your own two weapons or play with the default weapon set; only time will tell.

Players can enjoy the complete multiplayer Co-op experience throughout the Open Beta Trials. Simply use the SOS Flare to call your Pals into your world or summon up to 3 NPC Support Hunters to join the cause. Oh, and the game fully supports Crossplay between PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

Everything We Know So Far About Open Beta: Rewards

Capcom sure knows how to reward its players for taking part in their Open Beta Trials. Not only do you get to enjoy the game for free, but you will also receive some souvenirs for when the game fully launches. Firstly, all participants will receive a special Beta Test Bonus Pendant to attach to their weapons (in-game). Secondly, all players will receive a Beta Test Bonus Item Pack to give you a head start over other players. This pack contains the following items:

  • Armor Sphere x5 
  • Herbal Medicine x2
  • Lifepowder x5
  • Max Potion x2
  • Mega Potion x10
  • Nulberry x2
  • Ration x5

Note: You will only receive these rewards after the full version of Monster Hunter Wilds is released. So, make sure to play the full game on the same platform and using the same account that you used for the Open Beta Trial. Otherwise, you won’t be eligible for these special bonuses.
