Even though the main game plays out pretty smoothly, leaving little to no room for personal choices and path diversions. However, you still get a say in how your character looks, functions, and which companions follow you around. There are three classes in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, and honestly, all of them are equally balanced in terms of performance. So, it doesn’t really matter which factions you side with as long as the class matches your playstyle. Skills, on the other hand, are very different from classes and specializations. You can acquire various skills to unlock new move sets, boosts, status effects, gain resistance, and even improve your already-perfect builds. 

That being said, there are over 50 unique skills divided into various categories for each class. So, you can’t just get all the same skills for all three classes and get a similar experience. Instead, you must evaluate your fighting style and then unlock the required Skills for each class, as they are completely unique from the others.   • Counterblow: Deflects the enemy’s attacks and responds with a powerful counterattack.
  • Rancor: Rage lasts for 50% more duration before starting to decay.
  • Shield Volley: Shield Toss with a Shield Attack sends the shield back at the enemy three times, dealing damage on each hit.
  • Tumbling Blades: You can now chain your Comat Roll with a powerful Attack to deal some serious damage.

Survival Skills

  • Groundbreaker: Use your weapon to shake and shatter the ground to form cracks. These cracks explode after a while, dealing Burn damage. Also, it Detonates Weakened.
  • Titan Stomp: Slam into the ground to form a massive shockwave that inflicts insane amounts of Stagger and Overwhelm to nearby enemies.
  • Improved Health: Increases your max HP by +100%.
  • Return to Sender: Perfect Defense sends all incoming projectiles back at the enemies, dealing equal damage.

Ability Skills

  • Deadly Ground: Trap the enemies within a Necrotic field which continues to deal damage until they escape. The damage output is doubled if you remain within the field.
  • Depth of Fury: Increases the max Rage by +50%.
  • Enduring Rage: Rage doesn’t decay below 50%, allowing the player to carry it between fights.
  • Enraged: Boosts the Rage generation by +10%.
  • Explosive Toss: Pressing the Light Attack button after charging your Shield Toss throws an explosive version of the Shield that causes Disruption.
  • Killer Instinct: Abilities inflict +20% more Stagger.
  • Spectral Bulwark: Enemies who hit you with a Melee Attack will take damage and very high Stagger, increases your Defense by 50%.

Weapon Skills

  • Cleaving Strike: Launches a damaging wave across the battlefield whose damage increases with distance and inflicts Bleeding on impact.
  • Fury of the Forge: Rains down burning blades on nearby enemy and inflicts Burning on impact.

  • Downfall: Jump Attacks against Knocked Down enemies guarantee Critical Hits.
  • Endure: Reduces the Momentum loss by 35% when taking damage.
  • Evasive Maneuvers: Launches a powerful attack from extended dodge and when recovering from Knocked Down.
  • Exploding Arrow: Performing a Light and Ranged Attack simultaneously attaches an explosive arrow to nearby targets; this arrow explodes after a few seconds.
  • Riposte: Launch a powerful counterattack after every successful Defend.

Burst Skills

  • Decisive Finale: Launch a Decisive finishing move after a Light Attack chain combo.
  • Explosive Daggers: Shoot 3x sticky explosive daggers that explode after a while, inflicting Sundered.

  • Reeling Bolt: Shoot a special arrow with your bow that shocks and disorients the target. The primary target receives high Stagger, Shocked, and Weakened while nearby targets are reeled into the arrow.
  • Traumatize: Increases the Take Down damage by 15%.
  • Rain of Decay: Rains death from the sky, dealing damage per second to all enemies caught within the zone.

Sustain Skills

  • Burst of Speed: Boosts the Momentum generation by +10%.
  • Determination: Increases the max Momentum by +50%.
  • Swift Rebuke: Perfect Defense and Perfect Dodge grant Momentum.
  • Tipped Arrowheads: Increases the max arrows by +2.
  • Leaping Shot: Shoots an explosive arrow while leaping backwards, which explodes in a small area.

  • Light Armor Mastery: Wearing any Light Armor grants: +50% max Momentum, +20% Charged Bow damage, and +15% Weakpoint damage.

  • Close Quarters Combat: Deal +15% extra damage to all enemies within 10m.
  • Pounce: Successful Take Downs restore 50 Momentum and 25% of your shot arrows.
  • Unending Quiver: Gain +2 arrows.

  • Charging Spirit: Passively generates Staff Energy outside of combat.
  • Destructive Light: Unleash a beam of concentrated energy that deals Burning damage per second to all enemies caught within its radius.
  • Fade Strike: Unleash a powerful attack with any weapon after every Fade Step, sprinting grants additional attacks.
  • Mind Blast: Absorb 50 Mana while defending to unleash a deadly shockwave that goes 6m in all directions, dealing Staff damage.
  • Mortal Concentration: Gain extra damage output by sustaining your Ranged Attacks for up to 3 seconds.
  • Quick Recovery: Mana regeneration restarts 25% faster when paused by spending Mana or taking damage.

  • Chain Lightning: Launch a splitting bolt of Lightning that resonates 3 times, dealing Shock damage to multiple enemies.

  • Inner Focus: Gain +25% more Mana with Light attacks, +50% by hitting Afflicted enemies.

  • Prolong: Afflictions now last for +20% more duration. 
  • Velocity: Weapon Attacks deal +20% more Stagger.

Control Skills

  • Absorb: Gain +25% Staff Energy with successful Defend.
  • Fade Reflex: Slows down the time for everyone but you for a short duration after every successful Dodge.
  • Frostbite: Increases the Frozen against damage by +15%.
  • Ice Blast: Launch shards of ice, dealing damage in a tight radius. These shards leave behind a trail that inflicts Chilled to anyone who touches it.
  • Frost Nova: All enemies within a wide area around you get Frozen.

Shadow Dragon

  • Elemental Catalyst: Gain +15% Ability damage, depending on your Staff and Orb weapons.
  • Frost Shield: Freezes any enemy who attacks you.
  • Meditation: Increases the Mana regeneration by +15%.

Antivan Crow

  • Energy Burst: Fire or Electric Abilities increase all other Ability damage by +15% for 10 seconds.
