Once Human Team Editor

Do you remember Gru and his minions from the Despicable Me series? Well, Once Human gives you the perfect opportunity to become the boss of your own army of minions or Deviants. These squishy and sometimes cute creatures may seem harmless at first sight, but they can make the difference between survival and death in the game. There are many types of Deviants scattered around the large world map; some help you in combat, while others will generate rare resources for you, which you can use to make invaluable items.

So, if you are looking for how to get Silver Spring or Heart Vines in Once Human, you are at the right place. In this article, we will discuss all Gadget Type Deviants in Once Human, their yields, what makes them happy, and how to get them, let's start:

Blogs Table Contents

Blogs All Gadget Type Deviants in Once Human

Deviants in Once Human are divided into three categories based on the nature of their unique characteristics. For instance, you can carry the Combat Deviants to gain additional buffs, Territory Type will go out into the wild and collect various resources for you, and Gadget Type Deviants will yield rare resources for you. Moreover, some Deviants can also be used to teleport your teammates right into the battle arenas. There is also a fourth category (Furniture Type) but we just like to call it the Wish Machine. Here are all the Gadget Type Deviants in Once Human, their uses, and how to get them:

Blogs Atomic Snail: [August Update]

Atomic Snail

Atomic Snail is the latest entry in the Gadget Type Deviants in Once Human. This special minion was introduced in the recent August 2024 Once Human Patch, and everyone is going crazy for it. Basically, the snail produces Tunneling Fluid when placed inside its Isolated Securement Unit. You can use this fluid to craft the Aero Leap, a consumable that allows you to dash mid-air to close in on your enemies.

Blogs How to Get Atomic Snail?

There are many speculations about the Atomic Snail Deviant, but most of them are wrong. The only way to get this special Deviant is to open the Stardust's Advent III crates by earning 1000 Points in Prime Wars.

Blogs Atomic Snail Happiness

Snails are nature-loving creatures, and apparently, the Atomic Snails need a quick electric shock to get them started. You can keep them happy with the following items:

  • Crops
  • Flower
  • Electricity (5W)

Blogs Atomic Lighter

Atomic Lighter

This little Deviant produces Split-Core Cotton when placed inside the Isolated Securement Unit. You can use this special cotton to craft the Fusion Lighter, a throwable item that explodes on impact. The DMG of this blast is roughly equal to 115 + 650% Psi times a random base multiplier. Based on this information, the damage output of each blast can range from high to catastrophic each time, making it one of the most effective items against Elites and Bosses in Once Human.

Blogs How to Get Atomic Lighter?

There is a chance to drop the Atomic Lighter by defeating the Siren Boss in the Securement Silo – EX1. You can find this Silo on the Chalk Peaks at around character level 20+.

Blogs Atomic Lighter Happiness

The only way to cheer up the Atomic Lighter Deviant is to use the following vibes:

  • Red Light
  • Music
  • Electricity

Blogs Disco Ball

Disco Ball

Next up, we have the Disco Ball Deviant, the definition of happiness in Once Human. This special gadget produces Inspiration Fragments when placed inside the Isolated Securement Unit. You can use these fragments to craft the Utter Delight Whim, a consumable that increases the duration of all other Whims or status effects by up to 35%, granting you additional boosts like enhanced melee damage.

Blogs How to Get Disco Ball?

You can get the Disco Ball Deviant by looting the Nomad's Gear Crate during Jeremiah's Strange Empty House quest. Alternatively, it also randomly spawns outside the Greywater Camp in the southwestern corner of the map.

Blogs Disco Ball Happiness

The Disco Ball is usually made up of RGB colors, and that's what makes it happy. So, you should install the following colors to enhance its mood:

  • Red Light
  • Green Light
  • Blue Light

Blogs Dream Catcher

Dreamcatcher

We all dreamt of becoming The Spiderman while growing up, and the Dream Catcher is there to make all those fantasies come true in Once Human. This special Deviant produces the Trap of Silk when placed inside the Securement Unit. You can use this rare item to craft The Weaver, a consumable that leaves a cobweb whenever you roll during battle. Any enemy that walks into this web will get stunned or slowed down, giving you extra time to inflict loads of damage.

Blogs How to Get Dream Catcher?

You can capture the Dream Catcher Deviant after defeating the third boss, Arachsiam, in the Mirage Monolith. Unfortunately, that's your only chance, so don't miss it at any cost.

Blogs Dream Catcher Happiness

Spiders love living in the dark, and they vibe with good music. So, the best way to cheer up this Deviant is to use the following ambiances:

  • Blue Light
  • Music
  • Flowers

Blogs Frog the Leaper

Frog the Leaper

Frog the Leaper is your best buddy to reach the unreachable places in the game. This special Deviant produces Silver Spring (that's how to get it) in the Once Human Securement Unit. You can use this special ingredient to craft the Spring Leg, a wearable that grants extra jump height to the players. Furthermore, it also sometimes produces Wind-Up Tadpole, which you can use as bait for fishing.

Blogs How to Get Frog the Leaper?

Frog the Leaper randomly spawns around the lily pad puzzle. So, wear your best gloves whenever you feel like solving this special puzzle; who knows what you will catch there.

Blogs Frog the Leaper Happiness

This cute little Deviant has some rather unorthodox preferences. You can make it happy by giving it the following items:

  • Toy
  • Electricity (2W)

Blogs Gingerbread House

Gingerbread

The Gingerbread House Deviant is the master of disguise in Once Human. So, catching it may seem impossible unless you are really determined. However, once captured and placed in its Unit, the Gingerbread House yields Morph Crumbs or Cracker Crumbs, which you can use to craft Transformation Cookies at any Supply Workbench. This special consumable will temporarily Disguise you into any nearby item, making you invisible in plain sight.

Blogs How to Get Gingerbread House?

You can loot the Gingerbread House Deviant from the Morphic Crates scattered around the map. Alternatively, you can also catch them from around the Greywater Camp area (requires serious attention).

Blogs Gingerbread House Happiness

The Gingerbread House Deviant has many mood swings, but they can be easily cheered with the following items:

  • Red Light
  • Crops
  • High Temperatures

Blogs Harveseed

Harvestseed

Now it is time to uncover the secrets of the Living Armor trait in Once Human. This particular Deviant is probably among the wanted minions in the game. When placed inside the Securement Unit, the Harveseed Deviant produces the Heart Vines, which you can use to craft the Living Armor or the Chloroarmor for short. This special consumable generates an invisible shield around the player whenever their HP drops below 25%.

Blogs How to Get Harveseed?

The only way to acquire the Harveseed Deviant is to catch it after defeating the second boss, Treant, in the Gaia Cliff Monolith.

Blogs Harveseed Happiness

This Deviant lives in harmony with the Gingerbread House as they both have almost identical preferences. You can make them happy with the following items:

  • Crops
  • Flowers
  • High Temperatures

Blogs Hug-in-a-Bowl

Hug in a Bowl

Once Human can be pretty depressing at times, making you quickly lose your Sanity. Fortunately, the Hug-in-a-Bowl Deviant is there to save the day. This special Deviant produces Delicious Soup when placed inside the Securement Unit, which you can use to cook Homemade Noodles. Consuming these delicious noodles or, as the Koreans say (have some Ramyeon) will restore your Sanity by 100%.

Blogs How to Get Hug-in-a-Bowl?

You can randomly drop the Hug-in-a-Bowl Deviant while cooking the Hug-in-a-Bowl recipe with Deviated Peppercorn on your Electric Stove (unlock the Memetics first). If you can't find the Deviated Peppercorn, check out our Once Human Farming Guide to grow some yourself.

Alternatively, you can also randomly catch them at one of the following coordinates (4937, -3907) on the roadside in Iron River or (5771, -6056) under a bridge in Broken Delta. However, your chances are pretty slim so you better start cooking the special recipe.

Blogs Hug-in-a-Bowl Happiness

Again, the Hug-in-a-Bowl loves to thrive close to nature, so you can place them side-by-side with the Harveseed and Gingerbread House Deviants to cheer them up. They are used to the following items:

  • Crops
  • Flowers

Blogs Masonic Pyramid (PVP)

Masonic Pyramid

The Masonic Pyramid Deviant is pretty disturbing in many ways. Capturing this minion is your doorway to open the third eye in your subconscious. Basically, the Masonic Pyramid generates two ingredients, i.e., the Mind Matrix and the Wolflame. You can use these items to craft one of the following items:

  • Predator: It makes you temporarily invisible to all nearby enemies, and your next hit will be a guaranteed 100% Critical Strike.

Parapsychology: This consumable triggers an alarm in your subconscious or the sixth sense whenever a malice aims at you.

Blogs How to Get Masonic Pyramid (PVP)?

Unfortunately, you can only drop the Masonic Pyramid Deviant when participating in a Stronghold Conquest/War event in a PVP Server.

The Masonic Pyramid co-exists with the Dream Catcher and Frog the Leaper (pretty dark, right?) So, the only way to cheer him up is to use the following ambiances:

  • Blue light
  • Music
  • High temperature
  • Electricity (10W)

Blogs Pup Buddy

Pup Buddy

The Pup Buddy Deviant is perhaps the cutest minion that you can get in Once Human. This creature produces Small Balloons inside the Securement Units. You can use this item to craft the Featherweight, a consumable that allows you to carry heavy loads.

Blogs How to Get Pup Buddy?

You can randomly drop the Pup Buddy Deviant by killing the floating zombies (Charred Maniac) with melee attacks by the roadsides in the Blackfell Oil Fields.

Blogs Pup Buddy Happiness

The Pup Buddy Deviant feels happy, sweet, and squishy all the time. So, it would be best to lift his spirits with the following items:

  • Toy
  • Music
  • Green light

Blogs Space Turner

Space Turner

The Space Turner is a hybrid Combat-Gadget Type Deviant that greatly helps you in any major conflict. Basically, this Deviant generates the Space Cornerstone, which you can use to craft the Space Twister consumable. This special item allows you to bend the space-time and instantly teleport your teammates right by your side. So, the next time you feel surrounded from all sides, just remember, "A friend in need is a friend indeed."

Blogs How to Get Space Turner?

The easiest way to catch the Space Turner is to complete the Dayton Hospital quest. Let us help you there; simply change the calendar date to 9/15 (September 15th) to complete the quest. If you missed it by any chance, this Deviant also spawns near the Door Puzzle in the southeast of Throughville, in Dayton Wetlands.

Blogs Space Turner Happiness

Initially, we thought that the Space Turner might have the same preferences as the Masonic Pyramid, but we were wrong. To our surprise, the best way to cheer up this little fellow is to use the following items:

  • Blue Light
  • Toy

Blogs How to Use Gadget Type Deviants?

Unlike the Combat Type Deviants, you don't really need to Synchronize every new minion that you add to the Securement Unit. Instead, the Territory and Gadget Type Deviants automatically sync and get to work as soon as they are placed in their new homes. All you need to do is to catch one of the above deviants, build an Isolated Securement Unit, add the Happiness items, and right-click or press F to place them inside. Finally, make sure to collect the generated items daily and use them to craft your own special gadgets.

Blogs Conclusion

There you have it, that's all about the Gadget Type Deviants in Once Human, their uses, and how to get them all. Fortunately, there is no limit to how many Deviants you can hold in the base camp, so make sure to catch them all, and you won't regret it.
