Diablo IV: Season of Hatred Rising — Realmwalker Rising Event Guide

Diablo 4 Team Editor

Diablo IV Season of Hatred Rising is finally here, and with it comes the monstrosities spread by Mephisto’s corruption. Even though the Prime Evil resides somewhere in the jungles of Nahantu, his presence can be felt everywhere including our beloved Sanctuary. On a lighter note, Realmwalker Rising is the main event that comes with the new Season 6, along with new content, quests, equipment, and activities. So, players in all realms can partake in this activity even if they didn’t purchase the new Vessel of Hatred DLC.

Realmwalkers in Diablo are like mobile portals from hell that constantly summon demons and elites to their surroundings. These demonic entities will ambush the player and spread corruption in all lands without any discrimination. However, the main reason everyone should participate in these activities is the massive loot and, of course, the Seething Opals. In this article, we will explain everything about the Realmwalker Rising Event in Diablo IV, how it works, and how to use the Seething Opals, let’s jump in:

Realmwalker Rising Event Guide: Event Guide

The Realmwalker Rising Event is the main highlight of the Season of Hatred Rising. This event alone connects this new season with the Vessel of Hatred DLC. However, this continuous event works a bit differently compared to previous ones, like the Helltide Event from Season 5. Instead of mindlessly killing everyone, the player must focus on defeating enemy hordes in order to defeat the Realmwalker boss. However, this isn’t the end of the event, as the players must then enter and clear two mini-dungeons to claim their Seething Opals and other rewards.

Realmwalker Rising Event Guide: How to Start

Normally, the Realmwalker Event is available for everyone playing in the Season of Hatred Rising servers. This event starts every 15 minutes, so you can look for the currently available activity and its location by checking the main map. However, if you don’t see the portal icon with a green demon on the map, you haven’t completed the prerequisites yet, so don’t worry!

To unlock the Realmwalker Event, players must first enter one of the available Season of Hatred Rising servers. Next, progress through the seasonal character creation menu, choose the “Current Season” as the Realm, and hit finalize character. Once you progress through the tutorial section, you will see “Creeping Hatred” as one of the active quests in the journal.

Finally, head to Hawezar and speak with Crusader Damond to start the quest. Once you complete the “Creeping Hatred” quest, the Realmwalker Events will start popping on your map roughly every 15 minutes. Now, you can walk into the circle for the current event and find the Realmwalker Portal to start the activity.

Realmwalker Rising Event Guide: How to Complete

The Realmwalker activity is a continuous event that randomly starts in one of the original 5 regions of Sanctuary. If you are looking for the event in Nahantu, you must first purchase and install the DLC on your device. Once you find the portal icon on the map, quickly rush to it before the timer runs out or else, you might miss the action. Next, search for the Realmwalker and carefully approach it. At this point, the Realmwalker is basically invulnerable, and there is no way to damage it, even though you can see its huge HP bar.

However, the Realmwalker will start summoning Bloodhound Guardians, demons, elites, pillars, and whatnot. Basically, you should kill everything that moves and anything with an HP bar until the Realmwalker falls to the ground. Next, the giant will summon 3 Hatred Spires; kill them to remove the Invulnerable effect from the Realmwalker.

At this stage, you are now free to charge your attacks and use everything to defeat the Realmwalker. Once you finish off its huge HP bar, it will again fall and, this time, leave behind a portal to the Seething Realm. However, you don’t get your rewards just yet, as the fight will continue in another realm.

Realmwalker Rising Event Guide: Seething Realm Portal

After defeating the Realmwalker, interact with the portal to the Seething Realm to enter the mini-dungeon that’s where you will be getting all your rewards. Inside this Seething Realm portal, you will find a bunch of lesser enemies that you must defeat to proceed any further. Fortunately, if you have already defeated the Realmwalker with the Spiritborn or any other build, these weaklings don’t stand a chance against your might.

In any case, you will find a Realm Gate at the end of the first dungeon. Here, you can choose your desired Seething Opal, which in turn dictates what kinds of rewards you will get from enemies and the Resplendentt Chest in the next dungeon. The Seething Realm Dungeon is split into 2 floors, and you can access them depending on your selection on the first floor.

Realmwalker Rising Event Guide: Portal Selection

Once you clear the second Seething Opal floor, you will find another portal at the end that leads to the arena with 4 Guardians. Finally, defeat these Guardians to get your rewards and open the Resplendent Chest at the end to acquire the Seething Opals according to your selection.

Note: All Seething Realms has a chance to spawn the Seething Goblin. When slain, this particular enemy will drop a lot of Gold, so make sure to go after it ASAP!

Blogs What are Seething Opals?

Realmwalker Rising Event Guide: Seething Opals

Seething Opals are a new type of consumable recently introduced in the Season 6 of Diablo IV. You can use them the same way as other Elixirs in Diablo, which grant certain buffs for a limited time. These Seething Elixirs will increase the chance of dropping certain types of rewards like Gold, Resources, Boss Summoning Tokens, and Gear from slain enemies.

However, these rewards won’t spawn on all foes, and only those demons will drop the goods that already have a chance to do so, like bosses and elites. Lastly, there are 5 different variants of Seething Opals, each supporting a different reward category. While the buffs you get after consuming each type of Seething Opal are different, certain perks are the same for all variants:

  • Each Seething Opal lasts for 30 minutes.
  • You will gain 15% more XP for this duration.
  • Kills accumulate Reputation with the Zakarum Remnants.

Blogs What are Zakarum Remnants?

Okay, so we know that consuming any of the Seething Opals grants 15% extra XP and kills accumulate Reputation with Zakarum Remnants for the next 30 minutes. But what is this new system, and why is it important for your success in Diablo 4 Season 6?

As with every other season, the Season of Hatred Rising comes with its own Reputation Board (much like seasonal rewards). Gaining Reputation with the Zakarum Remnants factions will allow you to progress through the prize pool and unlock unique seasonal rewards. Currently, there are only 3 ways to earn Reputation in the Zakarum Remnants:

  • Defeat Realmwalkers in the Events
  • Use Seething Opals and slay as many monsters as possible within the next 30 minutes.
  • Eliminate Hollow Mobs in the Hatred Rising regions.
  • Complete Seething Realms after defeating Realmwalkers.
